Simple & Easy Poha


  • 1Rinse Hilife Pulau Chiura in water till they soften.

  • 2Once they lose their crunchiness and get mushy keep it aside.

  • 3Now add sugar, salt and turmeric powder and gently mix.

  • 4Dry roast the peanuts in a pan till they become crunchy.

  • 5Heat oil in the same pan. Crackle the mustard seeds first.

  • 6Then add onions and saute them till they become translucent.

  • 7Add curry leaves and green chilies. Saute for half a minute.

  • 8Add the roasted peanuts and stir.

  • 9Add the poha and stir.

  • 10Cover and steam for 2 to 3 minutes on a low flame.

  • 11When the poha is cooking check after 1 or 1.5 minutes and give a stir again.

  • 12Again, close the pan and let it cook.

  • 13Switch off the fire and let the poha remain covered for 1 to 2 minutes.

  • 14Finish off with a sprinkle of some lemon juice, coriander leaves and grated coconut.
