Hilife was in the making for almost 20 years before it finally got launched as a brand in
2019.
Our managing director, Prashant Ghimire was exposed to business and marketing from a very
early age. Born and raised in a business-oriented family, Mr. Ghimire himself was
business-minded. He started earning when he was in grade six by selling computer programs
that he made for school attendance and payroll management made for nearby businesses. He
quit his formal education after tenth grade to engage in business with his father.
His father, Tulsi Ghimire owned a local food manufacturing company called ‘Mahima’ based in
Butwal. It was one of the first companies to introduce corn flakes in Nepal. It was the year
2001 and corn flakes consumption in Nepal was at a minimum. They had to sell the product to
a neighboring country or ‘Dal-moth’ companies of Nepal. Mr. Ghimire spent two years working
with his father getting first-hand experience about how the market works. He was made
familiar with the vendors in India and different parts of the country.
However, it was not until 2018, that he realized that he could be a successor to his family
business. The realization hit him after he saw another brand of cornflakes being actively
consumed in Nepal. He saw the potential of manufacturing healthier food products as people
were slowly leaning toward a healthy lifestyle. But he did not want to do the business the
traditional way. Being a techie, Mr. Ghimire decided to digitize the business and turn it
into a multinational company. He also designed a manufacturing machine for the production of
fine quality beaten rice to compete with the market domination of India in selling beaten
rice. To further understand consumers’ demands, he assembled a group of trusted people and
started a market study immediately. During the research, he and his team found that many
parts of the country lacked access to nutritious and healthy food, while in other parts even
if they were available, they were often less affordable. Through this company, he decided to
address this inequity in our food supply and started plotting a supply chain all over the
country and tried to make the best quality food at the cheapest price possible.
After a year of meticulous research, methodical manufacturing, trial and error, positive and
negative feedback, and months of correction, Hilife finally launched its first product to
the market for the public in April 2019. Since the initial launch, our market sale has only
continued to rise. Surpassing many acclaimed food brands, today, Hilife is among one of the
biggest brands in Nepal with highest quality food, affordable cost and most efficient supply
chain. Our products are available in more than 100,000 outlets nationwide, to date.
And we do not intend to stop here. We believe with the support of our loyal
and hardworking staff, and valued consumers, we will continue to reach milestones of
excellence for years to come.
Our every success is owed to the people who have made it possible. Thank You for trusting
us..
